Adam brings over seven years of costs experience to MRN in his role as Costs Draftsman/Solicitor and Team Leader. After graduating from the University of Manchester in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (2:1) Adam went on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Law at Manchester Metropolitan. Following this, Adam completed his Legal Practitioners Course at the College of Law prior to being awarded a training contract with MRN in 2014, qualifying as a Solicitor in May 2016. Negotiation is Adam’s speciality and his profound approach sets him apart. By entering negotiations with a long-term view, he is able to build relationships and learn the approach of the other party to tailor his style to suit the circumstance. He understands the importance of negotiations for his clients and strives to attain results that mirror the effort they put into their case. Adam’s expertise stem from a previous role at another costs firm as Main Negotiator, where his sole responsibility was to negotiate costs on behalf of the entire office. Beyond negotiating, Adam also prepares Bills of Costs, predominantly in matters of Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence. His substantial legal background assists him to completely comprehend each matter and the amount of work involved, allowing him to produce accurate work and provide strategic advice. As Team Leader, Adam is motivated by seeing progress and development in his team, guiding them in negotiation strategy, case management and adapting to legal developments as well as assuring quality standards. He prides himself on being cutting edge and sharing all legal developments with both his team and clients. In addition to dealing with numerous high value cases, Adam has been involved in many notable cases such as Opoku v Tintas, a definitive Court of Appeal case in relation to the recovery of credit hire rates, as well as Court of Appeal matters regarding proportionality. Outside of the office, you’ll catch Adam cooking, skiing, scuba diving or getting unreasonably competitive at board games!
